Scientific evidence for the CAT system by Donald Harrison CBE

Harrison Evidence

"Thankyou for our recent discussions and the supply of your CAT2 Unit at the Lincoln MotorHome Show.

I have now fitted the Unit to my Honda MotorHome and am able to confirm my pleasurable observations:-

  1. The obvious excellent build-quality of the Unit via the durable and well finished materials used in its manufacture.
  2. The efficient insulation & sealing of its components.
  3. The helpful Instructions, and the fact that I was able to fit every thing without drilling or adding extra connections etc.

Due to the protection your CAT2 system will now give to my vehicle's body, I now have a 'Feel good' attitude to our damp weather that I have never experienced before!

Please continue to specialise in Rust-Protection, as there is and always will be enormous potential for their use, We MotorHomers have been seeing you at our Shows for some years now,and look forward to many more, as your advice and help has proved invaluable."

John Hindmarsh, Wellhouse leisure conversion.

"It's now some two and a half years since I approached you about whether a 'CAT' was suitable for fitting to a static caravan. You will recall that the reason for asking was that our own caravan was showing signs of corrosion to the chassis, even after only eighteen months and the manner in which it was sited, ie into a hill side, rendered the option of attempting to treat this problem by painting totally impractical.

I had viewed other static caravans on our site which had been left with unprotected chassis and had observed that after as little as ten years much of the chassis structures had corroded completely, rendering the vans virtually unmovable, un-anchorable and effectively unusable from a safety point of view.

Your confident reply that a 'CAT' could indeed be fitted with a positive result, combined with your efforts to secure a suitable transformer, in order that the unit could be used directly from mains electricity, eventually persuaded me to part with cash and fit your product, even though I was still apprehensive as to what the results would be.

The first twelve months of fitting did indeed show very positive results and as a result I purchased a further 'CAT' unit from you, also to be fitted to the caravan chassis, as a 'belt & braces' approach to ensuring as much protection as possible.

The results of having the 'CAT' fitted have far exceeded my expectations. Corrosion has been virtually stopped in its tracks.

Yes, the original corrosion is still evident, although it has changed in its form and appearance but, more importantly, the two 'test sites' where I ground the chassis down to bare metal are still uncorroded and showing the shiny bare metal.

I also fitted two iron hinges to the chassis. One was in direct contact with the chassis structure and the other was suspended, not touching. It won't surprise you to know that the suspended metal is very corroded and the one in contact with the chassis is like new.

I can say with full confidence that the 'CAT' will vastly extend the usable life of my caravan and will undoubtedly reflect in the resale value of any caravans to which they are fitted. To my mind they are the perfect way to protect a caravan, in that they do what they say they will, are easy to fit and need no maintenance other that the odd check to ensure that power is still being supplied to the units.

Please feel free to show this letter to any person who shows interest in the 'CAT' as it may help to overcome their doubts about using somethiing 'unusual'. I would also be happy to offer them a personal testimonial if you should ever wish to forward me their address or e-mail address.

Many thanks for your assistance"

"Our vehicle has covered more than 190,000 kms and to this point there are no signs of corrosion in the body or chassis. A small test patch of bare metal on the under body has no corrosion after being exposed to the elements for approximately 3-4 years." "I would like to take this opportunity to thoroughly recommend the CAT system to anyone who wishes to preserve their vehicle against the ingress of rust and keep it in first class condition."

Les Beckett, Beckett Engineering Services.

I am writing this letter in reference to the CAT systems that I have installed in 2 of my personal vehicles. The first one was fitted to a 1987 Daimler which I purchased in September 1993 from John Hughes Skipper Mitsubishi who purchased the vehicle brand new. John was concerned about rust problems with this vehicle. I subsequently had Melville Car Craft Panel and Paint do extensive repairs to in excess of $4,000. LH front door skin, RH rear door skin, boot lid and all other areas were ground treated with exit rust converter. A silver coating of rust inhibited weld-thru primer has been applied to all welded patches and both door skins repairs.

After the extensive work I immediately fitted a CAT system and until now have not had the slightest sign of any rust what so ever. I intend to keep this vehicle for a long time and I am absolutely thrilled at the results. At approximately the same time I restored a 1973 Buick Centurion pillarless sedan. It had areas of rust in the boot etc. After repairs and treatments I fitted a CAT system and until this time I can not locate any trace of rust.

I certainly recommend this system and if any one wishes to contact me to verify my statement I will only be too happy to tell them of my total satisfaction.

To whom it may concern,
Due to the appearance or rust on the split chassis of my five year old chalet I decided to have a Park home corrosion protection Kit fitted. The kit comprised of two heavy duty Cats and a Watson power unit and was fitted in October 2008.
To check if the unit was working correctly, I fitted a test piece comprising of two ā€˜L’ shaped mild steel brackets, one of which was attached to the chassis the other suspended alongside with a plastic tie-wrap this having no contact with the chassis.
To date there has been a very slight appearance of rust on the attached bracket, whilst the unattached is heavily corroded.
